Career summary
Beginning with his first job in 1992 as an intern for a small, 3-person successful event marketing company while still in college, Andrés’ experiences have contributed significantly to the skills he possesses today. He has worked as an entrepreneur, for micro and small businesses, state agencies, large national corporations, and non-profit organizations. His experiences have spanned from economic development to higher education finance, transportation and market research, to publishing. Through the years, he has developed his skills working with volunteer teams and dedicated staff, politicians and executive management.
Andrés credits the diversity of his past experiences as a key factor in preparing him for his current career. He currently supports marketing communications efforts for a national guarantor of student loans, and has launched I Own My Brand, a personal branding training and consulting firm.
Education
Andrés earned a bachelor of arts degree in Communications, emphasis in public relations, with minors in Spanish and business information management from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. He also holds a master in business administration (MBA) with a concentration in marketing management from Saint Edward’s University in Austin, Texas.
